This experiment was based on a piece by the artist KG Nilson kgnilson.se/
All the boxes are key framed manually, and a simple script is used to connect the lines. Enjoy.

This was one of my favorite tests, so simple but effective. Just off setting the anchor point while rotating resulted in some really elegant moves.

January 4th (I named it June on accident, I think I had spring fever when I made it)
Was a cool pattern experiment using ‘offset’ and Trapcode’s ‘shine’. You can still see the offset stuff if you don’t own shine.

Early 2010 I started doing daily motion experiments for about 3 months. I learned some new tricks and lost a lot of sleep. Since then the project files have been collecting dust. I decided I’ll start posting them, maybe some students can get something out of it. I need to clean up each file so I’ll probably post every other day or so.
The first one can be found here:

Back when I was doing daily experiments in 2010 I found a cool effect by rotating objects that have auto orient applied. I got a lot of questions about it then, and recently someone brought it up again so I figured I would just post the source file, enjoy!
